Multiple Systems to be connected for sharing data

Hi. Well me and some of my society people have thought of connecting all our machines together so as to transfer and share the data we wish to from the source machine to the destination machine. I want to know what is the process for installing the machine in a network. Can we access internet all together using one connection. It will be a great help. Thank you.

Connecting multiple systems is a simple task. If you want all your systems to be connected to each other there is a way through which you can. You need to connect your systems through a cable medium. Make one of your machine as source machine that is main machine and others as its receiver or clients. Also if you you want to connect to internet using single connection you need to purchase a HUB or ROUTER through which you can connect your systems via LAN using ethernet cable connection.

There is basically two steps for connecting multiple PC's with LAN. One is by making a machine as a server and other as its clients or by if not this then by peer to peer network connection. Making one machine as server will lend you to access and share only when the server is on. This is a drawback also if you want to access internet the server has to be turned on. peer to peer networks are basically connection of different system via application layer overlay network.

The connection with different systems can be done with . If you want to connect to internet you need to assign Ip address of the system for each system. Contact your ISP for this. You may need to keep the gateway same for each machine its just that you need to set the configuration for your system to get connected to internet. After setting up this go to Start> run. Type cmd. A screen will be displayed type ping (the ip address). It replies if its connected.
