Explore network in Windows 7

Hi,
I have installed Windows 7 in my system. The network setting in it show much more options as compare to Windows XP. I think more can be done here. Normally everything lies in GUI mode but still before setting up a home network I need detail about the network which it already have. What are the new features and option does Windows 7 provides while working on Windows network. Thanks in advance.

Indeed, the average user is not a system administrator and set up a functional network containing file shares, printers, or other music can become very complicated. He had to find a way for the user to do this very easily. Microsoft has decided to create HomeGroup. HomeGroup aims to propose one or more networks in a LAN. The aim is both to facilitate the sharing of resources at home, turning every computer in media server but also (especially!) To be securely controlled.

Another small thing that bothered mobile users on Windows, was adapting to the environment. Indeed, it is not uncommon to have someone with a laptop connected to the day on the corporate network and the evening on the home network. He had to find a solution and Microsoft has revealed an old idea of cartons (for Windows Longhorn planned originally) Castle. Castle, who in fact is the HomeGroup presented above, also aimed to take the principle of roaming profiles and allow the profiles to adjust. Thus, it becomes possible to define a default printer at work and a default printer at home, and the system will detect the printer that is currently used as the context / place. There will be no need for the user to do things

The new network side does not stop there since with Windows Seven arrives also rather for a system administrators. DirectAccess, which can resemble anything existing (including paying for software) is supposed to be a new concept in Microsoft. It is primarily a secure connection between the client computer and the company network without using VPN. Better yet, the connection would automatically whenever an Internet connection is available and would enable the administrator to easily control a remote computer.

Another novelty: BranchCache. This is to optimize the access networks in the case of large enterprises by caching files accessed by a user can access it again quickly. The cache may be on either the client or on a network server "close" to the client computer, always a worry for quick access to resources. Both modes are therefore BranchCache Distributed Cache and Hosted BranchCache Cache . It is important to know that DirectAccess BranchCache and only work with Windows Seven and servers running Windows Server 2008 R2.
