Wireless network disconnects frequently in windows 7

I have windows 7 installed on my PC. I am facing a wireless network disconnect problem frequently. Disconnection and reconnection works some time for me, but it can't be done again and again, its' frustrating. Due to frustration I often shut down my PC and go to sleep. Can some one help so that I can work uninterruptedly and concentrate on my work. Any advise.

Is there any other Windows 7 machine available. If it is, you can check wireless network connection there. If there is a router you can bypass it and try connecting directly via wired cable. For test purpose you can turn off the firewall on your computer and router. With firewall off, check if the connection works. If your connection is still lost post by with a query.

The above posted solution should normally work. If it does not, restart your computer in Safe Mode with Networking for a test. You can find out if there is any problem. Check you computer's NIC drivers for windows 7. If they are out of date, you can update them from Internet. Windows 7 NIC drivers should be easily available for your hardware.

When I updated my NIC drivers for windows 7, my computer looked more stable. It would disconnect but not frequently. But when I turned off the firewall there was no problem of network disconnection. Now I can surf uninterruptedly. Thanks for your suggestions.
