Unable Connect to the Internet via AirPort Express

    Hi,

I'm running a PowerBook G4 with mac OS X 10.3.9. I connected to my new Airport Express to the ADSL Nation X-modem with the correct cables. I tried to configure my settings manually re-enter all settings in the network settings, I was saying that was at the airport, but had a self-assigned IP. So it's a problem with the incompatibilities OS or have to change some settings of TCP / IP (OS 9) or network (OS X).

Can you connect to the Internet if you connect your PowerBook directly to the modem or router (not the Airport Extreme) using an Ethernet cable? Are you sure can not connect to the Internet or has no DNS. But without seeing the setup, I'm not sure what would be necessary.

Use an ethernet cable directly to the modem or router, then the problem is not in the airport. You have to establish a connection to the internet first to rule all the variables. Turn off everything, modem / router / switches / airport / computer.

Connect the computer directly to the modem. Make sure the computer is configured to expect an IP address via DHCP or if you are using PPPoE, that everything in that section is correct. Connect should be via Ethernet.

Bring back in the same order, hoping that everyone is ready before going to the next. Once the modem and computer are backups, try to get online.

    Try the following :
    1. Open the Internet Connect application in your Applications folder.
    2. In the resulting window, click AirPort in the toolbar.
    3. If AirPort is off, click Turn AirPort On.
    4. From the Network pop-up menu, choose the name of the wireless network to which you want to connect (if you're asked to enter a password, enter it in the space provided).
    5. Then open your web browser to access the web.
