AVG has detected msb.exe

Hi,
On running a full system scan AVG has detected some 12 trojan viruses which is quarantined buy it. The location showed by the antivirus for the virus files is msb.exe. I want to know that is it safe to delete the virus files from vault. Like if I remove the same then from the virus vault then will it spread again. What is the safe way to remove it completely from the system. Thanks.

Re: AVG has detected msb.exe

It is safe if you leave the virus in the vault. The antivirus usually block the application from being running. You can also delete the same from it. Here what happens when a antivirus detects any threat associated with a software, file or anything it first tries to delete the virus and heal the associated file. If this fails then it moves the corrupt file to virus vault so that the spreading can be reduced. If you want you can delete it. Just run a scan again.

Re: AVG has detected msb.exe

It is a type of Worm. The virus is designed to spread automatically by creating self copies. The different types of this virus is msaa.exe to mssaz.exe(alphabetical order), MSB_1.2/MSB.EXE, N.EXE, I.EXE, 32.TMP, 36.TMP.EXE, etc. There are more. It is recommended to run a full system scan under safe mode. The virus can be removed manually by clearing the temp files.

The virus lies in Windows directory. The most common path of the virus is in the task folder of Windows. In the folder the files is listed in the form of {5B57CF47-0BFA-43c6-ACF9-3B3653DCADBA}.job. In the same way autoexec.bat, a.da in the temp folder, {5B57CF47-0BFA-43c6-ACF9-3B3653DCADBA}.job , b.da, etc. Run a disk cleanup.
