    Wireless network loss in windows 7

    I have installed the release version of Windows 7 on my HP Pavilion Laptop and there is a frequent loss of netowrk connection that just stops. However, if I try to disconnect and reconnect it then it works but afterwards it will again give me the same results. I cannot understand why is this happening, is there a virus problem perhaps in my pc but I even checked it and it is totally virus free? Thank you for any help

    Can you tell me if there is any other Windows 7 pc in the network that is connected and if so then does this problem also occurs on that pc? Please follow the below steps to troubleshoot this issue:

    1. First try to bypass the router and connect to DSL directly via wired cable. Is Internet Connection still lost?
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode with Networking for a test.
    3. Temporarily turn off firewall on the computer and router (if it has).
    4. Upgrade the NIC driver for Windows 7.

    I think that the IPv6 may be the culprit. Its been shown to cause random wifi drops in home networks. Its only needed if homegroup is enabled. On a domain IPv6 is used an supplied by DC, so no problem.

    Have you tried to update the firmware for your model. You can download it from the manufacturer website. Here's a Wireless Configuration for Wi-Fi.

    WINDOWS

    * Click Start

    * Click Control Panel

    * Select Network and Internet Connections

    * The Network and Internet Connections window will appear:
    Select the Network Connections icon

    * The Network Connections window will appear:
    Double click on Local Area Connection

    * The Local Area Connection window will appear:
    Select the General tab and click, or highlight Internet Protocol and press Properties

    * The TCP/IP Properties window will appear:

    * Make sure that both the Obtain an IP Address Automatically and Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically are selected, or checked.

    Re: Wireless network loss in windows 7

    I am using the same computer and having the same issue. I have checked my LAC TCP settings, they are set to automatic. The other W7 machine works fine, so does my mac, all drivers associated with the hardware have been updated for W7, I have checked them several times. Any other suggestions? Thank you.
