My Windows is affected with Hidden Trojan

Hi,
I was browsing some sites last night. At the moment I was using FireFox. The browser freeze and red light on my cabinet was blowing. Nothing was working. My mouse and keyboard freezes too. I press Ctrl + Alt + Del and opened Task Manager. I saw that my browser was eating up too much of memory though it has displayed only two web page. Then after restarting system things became normal. Is this due to any hidden trojan virus in the system. I think my system is affected by virus which is hidden in the system. I am currently using AVG free edition in my system. Any suggestion is appreciated. Thanks.

It is possible. If you are facing pop ups, automated redirecting, slow pc performance, etc then this are symptoms of virus attack. Always keep your antivirus upto date. Do not turn off the firewall in Windows. Because it blocks unwanted incomings. Restart your pc in safe mode and run a full system scan. If you found any then delete. You can get more information on the virus listed in the scanned result page.

Re: My Windows is affected with Hidden Trojan

Virus mostly effects Windows registry files, creates unwanted directories, affects user data, etc. They eat up your bandwidth to download more virus from the internet. So it is recommended that as you get virus warning signs then disconnect your system from internet. You can use Hijack this file to locate the virus file. Use Spybot Search & Destroy to delete the viruses. A free version is not strong enough to destroy hidden infections.

Click on Start > Run. Type cmd and hit enter. In the list if you see many ports open then it means your system is affected with trojan virus. Under this you need a powerful antivirus to scan and search for infections. Use Norton Internet Security for the same. Browse trusted sites and block pop ups from your browser. Clean up temporary files regularly after browsing. You can also add up a third party firewall tool for more security.
