Not able to change MAC address in Windows 7

Hi,
I need some information on changing the MAC address in Windows 7. I shared a local network in my home. So I need to make my network more secure. Buy altering the MAC address I can allow limited access to other users on the network and for the internet. I had done the same on Windows XP before which was quiet beneficial. Thanks in advance.

Yes it true that changing the MAC address can make your network more secure. In your Windows 7 system open Network & Sharing center. Then go to Change adapter settings. Under you will have to right click on the adapter name and then click on properties. A window will come up. In that click on Properties > Configure. Under it click on Advance and then Network address. By default this column remains empty. Just click here and enter your MAC address. Do not put any lines.

MAC address is a unique address of the system which defines the hardware of the network address used by NIC. The address is changed usually for administrative purposes. You can do the same by editing Windows registry file. Open Registry editor. Then navigate to the following path - [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318]. Under the key of 0000, 0001, etc click and match the key with your network card. If you get your one then on the right side see for NetworkAddress. Right click on it and click on modify. Enter your MAC address and restart your system.

MAC address can be configured by Control Panel > Network and Internet. Just open your network connection which is active. Then go to the appropriate option and configure the same. You can also use WireShark a third party tool to configure your MAC address at proper interval of time. WireShark offers you a fully functional tool which gives out better control over the Ethernet network.

Same problem here, I tryed to change from adapter settings, registry, smac 2.0, mac makeup and tmac, but no sucess at all

Snake08, where do I find this config in wireshark?

I think wireshark is only for capture, or not?
The mac config there is a filter for capturing packets from that mac, not to modify your mac.

And there is nothing in the wiki about changing mac's interface by wireshark.

I can use Wireshark just to verify my mac but not to change it.
