it said i've just been hacked by dutch hackers

sorry to bother you all. i was looking around the computer world yesterday and all of a sudden a screen appeared saying ive just been hacked by dutch hackers WTC Legend it had the dutch flag waving and green matrix letters going down the screen with dutch rap music playing. should i be worried i like many others do all my banking on the computer and what little money i have i dont want stolen. according to microsoft websites it says you have to totally wipe everything off your computer and start over please tell me there is another option. info i know: windows xp , service pack 3, avg virus scanner 8.5, spybot search and destroy. my computer seems to be running as it did before all this happened. i am smart enough to do the netstat thing if you need that. please help.

That problem must be due to trojans or rootkit .now if you dont have much important data on disk then better to format else use malewarebytes , spybot from safe mode also update them form safe mode with network .Check that you have not enable any remote access setting on network.
