    Problem with my DNS

    Hey,
Ive been having a problem connecting to the internet through my router. wireless and with ethernet cords. i have been using this router for a while with no problems. but it just stopped letting me connect im not sure what to do, I have searched for a few days trying stuff i find online to help but nothing has worked.

there are several computers that dont work on this network including my xbox. they all get the same dns error. in the network setup it shows im connected to the network but there is a big red X between the network and internet.

my router is a D-link d1-524 wireless router
    here is an ipconfig

    Re: Problem with my DNS

Does your router send outside requests for DNS to this bind server? One easy fix is to add the hostname/IP to /etc/hosts. (Or wherever your OS puts that file.) Do you have TCPDUMP installed on that server, maybe you could run a tcpdump -n port 53 to see what packets are coming back. Make sure /etc/nsswitch.conf hosts entry reads something like "files DNS NIS". (Or wherever your OS puts that file.)
