Connect PS3 to router via switch

I currently have my computer in my office, it is connected to linksys wireless router and my ps3 is also connect to router but the distance between router and ps3 is more than pc. I am getting around less that 60% signal, can i connect both ps3 and pc to a switch(2950) so that the 2 of them are wired to the router?

It would be really nice of you give some information, like, brand, model of your AP, and how are you setting up the network, All the wires that plug into your router and your computer and the telephone socket cannot be mixed up.

You can use a crossover cable ( RJ-45 or ethernet) or get a USB wireless adapter, another way is to go to router and connect port1 of router > regular RJ45 > ps2 and port2 of router > regular RJ45 > PC, no nedd to use switch.

If you are getting low speed then disable security (better throughput or download speeds). Connect a network cable from the AP to your PS3 and try it again. Any speed network card can be connected to a switch without crossover and 2x 1000mb devices can connect together without crossover as auto crossover is built into 1Gb ethernet.
