    DHCP/DNS Suffix Problem

    Hello,

I have a problem with access to the Internet on one of my computers. I have a livebox, vista Service Pack 2. The computer which use for office used is working very well. It connects normally. The other computer does connects apparently. I have access to the configuration of the livebox, not to Internet. Also I have a strange IP address .... All other connected devices have an IP address like 192.168.1.12 or 192.168.1.13. Mine is 192.168.1.98 ... Well, it was perhaps nothing to do. When I see the details of the connection, i can see that DHCP is not enabled. And I do not own DNS suffix for the connection. but IPv4 DNS addresses are totally different (200.48.225.130 and 200.48.225.146) while on the PC that connects to the IPv4 DNS is 192.168.1.1. , please help me solve this problem

Thank you for reading my entire post.

    Hello

Can you tell us what connection type (wired, wireless) you use for this pc. Verify that IPv6 is disabled. , Can you put a fixed IP on the PC. also you can try to reset your livebox, this can solve your problem

    Re: DHCP/DNS Suffix Problem

Windows Vista features TCP/IP V6 like Windows XP . The protocol used to date on the Internet is still TCP/IP V4, so if you only use this protocol, you can disable the future IPV6 TCP/IP to save network resources. In Control Panel, Network and Internet, Network and Sharing Center, click the task Manage network connections Select Properties using the right click on the icon of your network connection or double-click the icon to select Properties. Uncheck Internet Protocol version 6, and then click OK and Close.

    Re: DHCP/DNS Suffix Problem

Before doing anything else can you verify that IPv6 is actually disabled.

To do this in the command prompt you type cmd then ok and the window that opens before you type ipconfig /all

for a fixed IP on vista proceed as follows (there is no choice):
    • Click Start
    • Then click on Network and Sharing Center
    • Click on View status
    • In this new window you click Properties and select the protocol , you can use TCP/IPv4 properties

You try to Use the following IP.
enter an IP between 192.168.1.201 and 192.168.1.254
    For Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1

Then select "use DNS server address next"
enter this : 192.168.1.1 (ip of the livebox to serve as a DNS server)

    try this and revert back

If you've tried a reset of your livebox before combining this PC WiFi.
