A switch, keeps a record of the MAC addresses of all the devices connected to it. With this information, a switch can identify which system is sitting on which port. Enter the IP address of the DSL router in your IE or Firefox. Enter Username and Password: (default Username is admin and Password is password). So when a frame is received, it knows exactly which port to send it to, which significantly increases network response times.

Netgear are a bit cheaper than linksys and buffalo and they are decent for their price. Where a hub or switch is concerned with transmitting frames, a router's job, as its name implies, Select WAN in Left column of the admin panel of modem. I am using COX Cable internet and the router I saw in the store all support this stuff and I was wondering if they also support ADSL internet provided by MTNL.

A router is typically connected to at least two networks, commonly two LANs or WANs or a LAN and its ISP's network. Check and see if all values are as shown specially the STATUS=UP. You _can_ use 1 wireless router for both your connections. But you'll have to be careful how you go about setting up things. connect another LAN cable from Linksys WRT150N port marked LAN to PC
