| Network password may be corrupted
I set up a home network for wireless router use (Netgear model WGR614) following the netgear installation instructions. I used a strong password for the network, combination of letters and numbers, upper and lower case and wrote the password down just in case of catastrophe. Computer is a Presario, running Vista Home Premium After working for several months, the wireless network did not connect one day and I found it asking for the network password. I typed in the strong password and it was not accepted. I've typed in every variation of case and possible typo I can think of and none of them work. I'm connecting the computer to the internet through a wired connection to the router but have no functioning wireless connection without the password. Is there a way to find the registry entry for the password to reset it? the problem does not seem to be the router, which I completely reinstalled. Help! |

| Re: Network password may be corrupted
This happens in rare cases. The password does not gets corrupted. The only mistake happens in typing or the user does not properly remember. In case of corrupt password you will have to search for username.pwl file which is located in the Windows directory. Deleting this file will remove the password of windows network. You will have to search this file. And if you found you can simply delete it. After that you can assign a new password. |
