Adding Arris modem to Linksys router

I would like to connect my ARRIS PM402 Cable Modem with my Linksys WRT54G router. I have tried configuring my modem with the Linksys router using Linksys setup wizard but the wizard is not detecting my modem. Why is it so and in such case how can I add my Arris modem to Linksys router? Please help!

Make sure you modem is turned on for at least 5 minutes. Connect your router to your computer directly. Open the router's web utility and see if it opens. If it works then your modem is faulty but if not then call the Linksys support because they should be able to help you better.

For configuring your modem on your router, never use Linksys Setup Wizard because the Wizard is designed only for Linksys devices and cannot be used for other devices. Try connecting a cable directly from your modem to the router's WAN port and then open the Linksys home page on your web browser. Now configure your router by providing the details of your modem and then saving the settings.

It is because the MAC address of your computer which is saved on your router. This happened to me. I would recommend you to reset the router with powered on by pressing the reset button down for 30 seconds. Wait for your Power, WLAN and Internet light to turn on. Plug in and turn on your modem.
