I have a Motorola SB5120 Surfboard Cable modem. I want to add it to my home network. For this I am trying to clone the MAC address of my modem but unable to get it working. How do I do so? Is it possible? How can I change the MAC address of my SB5120 Surfboard Cable modem?

Turn off your modem for at least 10 minutes. This forces the modem to forget the MAC address of all the devices connected to it. Now connect the modem with computer and power up both modem and computer. This will let the modem to acquire the new MAC address of your modem. Thus you can use your surfboard modem on your new computer without changing anything.

• Find out the MAC address of the device that you want to clone into your modem.
• Open your web browser and go to SB5120 modem's configuration page
• Click Advanced tab
• Click MAC Addr clone tab
• Enter the MAC address
• Click Apply.
