2Wire router hanging with AT&T connection

I am having some issues with my 2Wire modem/router which always drops connection. It generally happens see any online videos on sites such as YouTube. I am running Windows XP operating system on my computer. And my ISP is AT&T. I have tried disconnecting the cables and reconnecting and installed all the drivers but nothing fixed. Some times it even hangs during streaming videos. How can a streaming video hang 2Wire router with AT&T connection?

There is a known issue with wireless connection and 2Wire routers. However a fireware upgrade should fix this problem. You can even try to use some standalone modem and directly connect this to your computer to see if the problem is from the ISP or its the problem if your computer settings. Wireless connections also suffers from environmental noises which finally affects your internet speed.

I think is the problem of signals. Even I had the same issue once with my Linksys router which was clashing with my wireless devices like mobiles, wifi cameras and even television at my home. So to fix this problem my network engineer told me to change the wifi signals to some higher bandwidth like 5 Ghz or so. I followed his instructions and everything was fixed.
