Some processes are eating away my bandwidth

    Hello,

I hv been using an ISP which gives me limited bandwidth per month ..

When I start my internet connection, in about 5-10 min, data usage becomes 20-30 MB(Download+Upload both) even if only gmail.com is open ..

So I'm worried that something somewhere is eating away my bandwidth and I'm predicting a higher bill this month ..

I hv several svchost.exe processes running in my task bar .. Is it the cause or something else??

Please helpme with this problem ..

The Svchost.exe file is located in the %SystemRoot%\System32 folder. At startup, Svchost.exe checks the services part of the registry to construct a list of services that it must load. Multiple instances of Svchost.exe can run at the same time. Each Svchost.exe session can contain a grouping of services.

If you are using a wireless internet then it can be assumed is someone is using your internet bandwidth. It can either be a virus or any spyware. Press ctrl + alt + del. Kill unknown process like any fun.exe or sms.exe. The virus has some kind of typical name. Just revive that recently on which site you visited. If you are using Yahoo messenger or any other messengers service then uninstall the plug ins. Many time software download updates automatically. Like Adobe, JAVA, Windows, etc. Check the settings for the same
