| What is the longest you can run rj45 cable
Hello, I have linksys wired router. I want to connect my two computers and laptop running windows XP. The computers are away from each other and its a long distance. So what is the longest length you can use for rj45 cable? Thank you for any advice. |

If you set the computers far from each other, it will take time to share the data. Long length will take long time for data transfer. You can go around 600 feet from the router with the cable. Here is tip on How to crimp RJ45 cable |

Maximum length is 100m. 100 meter is approx 300 feet. There are also 25m pre-made cables. If you are using good quality cable and quality equipment you can run more than 100 meter cable. You can also make your own ethernet cord if you have the proper tools and connectors. |

An ethernet cable can be run 100 meters. It should be a good quality cable if you are using it for long distance. It must be properly placed and fitted. The length is also depends on the speed of connection which you are sharing over LAN. TRy to avoid crossing electrical wires with ethernet cable. |
