DNS for linksys router

Hi,
I have a Linksys router with DSL broadband connection. Whenever i try to connect with it i get problems connecting internet. I think there may be something wrong with my network configurations. It creates problem related to DNS everytime i try to connect. I need to change the preferred DNS settings of my router. Can someone help?

You can try using opendns. It is a free service that works for networks of all sizes and make the Internet safer through integrated Web content filtering, anti-phishing and DNS. It gives public DNS services and its free. You can use third part DNS to solve the DNS issues.

If you want to check the DNS servers then follow the steps given beow:

• Open your browser
• Enter your router’s IP address in Address Bar
• Type admin in password field and leave username blank
• Press OK or Enter
• On Router's setup page, click Status
• Then click on Router

There you will get all the information about the IP address and DNS.

Try this:

1. Click Start
2. Then click on Control Panel
3. Open Network Connections
4. Right click on LAN
5. Click Properties
6. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
7. Then click Properties
8. Click on Obtain DNS server automatically
9. And click OK
