Problems connecting to comcast wireless internet

Hi all,
I have windows XP installed on my desktop. I am using Netgear wireless router with comcast high speed internet connection. It was working fine till now. I am getting very slow speed and the pages takes ages to load. Sometimes it gets totally disconnected. Can anyone help me? What is going wrong now?

Try connecting your computer directly to the modem. You will get the same speed and all the things will work fine. If it doesn't work as it used to, then it could be a hardware problem. You need to replace the modem. Have a look at following thread related to this:

If all your computers are working fine (need to check that first), it may be a synchronizing problem. So just turn off all your equipments and your systems. Unplud the modem and wireless router. Restart your modem after few minutes. Plug your modem back to the wireless router. Then turn on all your systems and wait for sometime to get connected with all your settings.

Go to the Netgear website and look for latest updates of your router's firmware. Download and install all the latest updates. Statically assign an IP address to your computer in the same IP subnet range. If you are still facing the same problem. Then contact comcast services for more help.

Try this:

• Click on Start
• Go to Control Panel
• Double click Internet Option
• Go to Connections Tab
• Click on LAN settings
• Uncheck the box for "Automatically Detect Settings"
• Click Apply and OK
