    Avg 7.5 removal tool

    Hi

I tried to completely remove it from my computer but for some reason I get a "Error" in th middle of the removal. What can I do to get this AVG (large) program out of the system and install another program?

    Thanks

Try disabling all its functions via AVG configuration screen and then try to remove it (via Control Panel). I've removed it before so it must be possible.

How to get into Safe Mode
    • Restart your computer
    • Tap the F8 key immediately (F5 on some PCs) immediately after the "Beep"
    • You will see a screen with boot options appear
    • Choose the first option: Without Fail and valid with "Enter"
    • Select your normal account, not Administrator (if needed ...)

Why you are removing AVG tools Update it

If you receive the "Invalid update control CTF file" message during AVG Free update, most probably the update control files are corrupted. In this case it is necessary to delete these files. During a next attempt to update AVG Free, new control files should be downloaded and update process should be completed without any difficulties. Please kindly follow these steps to delete mentioned control files:

    • Run the AVG Free user interface (double-click the AVG Free icon on your desktop).
    • Open the Tools -> Advanced Settings... menu.
    • Navigate to the Manage option in the Update branch.
    • Press the Delete temporary update files button.
    • Try to update AVG Free.
