| Re: How to flush DNS? What is DNS cache? Most DNS clients cache the results of name resolution requests. This speeds up name resolution if multiple lookups are done to the same address, such as is common when browsing the web. Sometimes a bad DNS entry will be cached and you will need to either flush the DNS cache to get rid of it, or wait up to 24 hours for it to be dropped from the cache automatically. |

| Re: How to flush DNS?
Actually whenever you visit any web site , your pc stores the the website's DNS information in a local cache. Now when you visit the website again, it will first look at this cache for any previous visits. While this is a very efficient method it can cause problems if DNS information has just recently changed. In this case you might want to "flush" your local cache to force your local computer to find this new DNS info. |

If you have windows vista or windows 7 make sure that you run the command prompt in administrator mode otherwise the command will fail to execute. |
