Started unicast maintenance ranging - no response received - t3 time-out

    Hi,
I am using a cable modem and it is dropping out frequently. I don't have any idea about it. It is connected for few hours and get disconnected automatically. And the event log gives the following error: "started unicast maintenance ranging - no response received - t3 time-out" What is it? Can anyone help me with this?

    Thank you for any suggestion.

Check the Receive Power Level. You can find it in modem's diagnostic page. It should not be lower than 15dBmV. It may be because of overheating of modem. High temperature can cause the changes in signal quality. Contact your service provider and check your connection.

Upstream power level must be below 55dBmv TX. It is always better in case of dropouts. Also check for the server line. The bad server line can give continuous dropouts. It can be a connection problem in your area as there are many person using the same link and can create problem at their end. Check all the fittings and hardware with good technician.

It means your modem lost sync and failed the firmware update. You can directly to the modem with the computer and check logs. If it still gives error, contact your service provider and replace the modem. In many cases it is modem problem and got fixed after replacement. Also the lines can cause dropout of connection because of overuse.
