| WEP passphrase problem in windows XP
I have a wireless connection set up on my windows XP computer. I have netgear mr814 wireless router.When i enable WEP on my network card and use the same passphrase to generate the keys. But i cannot get into taht. Can someone help me with this? Thank you for all your suggestions. |

Most wireless networks are completely unprotected when you first set them up. you can protect your wireless network by using Wired Equivalent Protection (WEP). 128-bit WEP is more secure version of the original WEP. Encryption scrambles data on your wireless network so that only computers that have the encryption key can read your communications. |

I recommend you to check the website or manual of the card manufacturer and the access point manufacturer. You can manually enter a WEP key by the access point or by using a passphrase. You can get the key manually and type in there. |

It may be a software problem. When you see the screen for WEP, you cab type 26-digit password with any random characters. There is a Microsoft's article on You cannot connect to a wireless access point with the Wi-Fi Protected Access update installed |
