How to open IIS manager on Windows Server 2003

I am working on Windows Server 2003. I would like to open IIS to configure our web site. But the problem is that I am unable to find it anywhere. Can you help me how to open IIS manager on Windows Server 2003? I was able to open it on Windows Server 2000, I know this very well but don't know on 2003. Please help!

IIS Manager is a graphical interface for configuring your application pools or your Web, FTP, SMTP, or NNTP sites. With IIS Manager, you can configure IIS security, performance, and reliability features. To start IIS Manager, go to Start menu, Control Panel, then Administrative Tools, and then click Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.

Have you tried opening IIs using Run dialog box? I suppose it is available in Windows Server 2003. Go to Start menu, click Run. In the Run dialog box, type "inetmgr", and press Enter. Accessing IIS in this way does not give you the range of administration options offered by IIS Manager; however, it does offer quick access and limited management options for your Web sites.

Re: How to open IIS manager on Windows Server 2003

Windows Server 2003 has IIS. If you don't know then Microsoft have released IIS Manager 7.0 for Windows XP SP2, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Vista SP1 operating systems. Try the above method and you should be able to open it. There are several key features in this new version:

    1) It allows for the first time users without administrative privileges to connect and manage their web sites and applications remotely

    2) It runs over SSL, no more DCOM, which makes this a firewall friendly feature easy to setup.

    3) Runs as a smart client, which means if a new feature is installed on the server it will automatically download the updated versions to the client machines.
