    Network Settings for JetDirect

    I have:

    1. A router with IP Address 192.168.0.1 as Local IP Address and 255.255.255.0 a Subnet Mask.

    2. A HP LaserJet 2300 dtn printer equipped with internal JetDirect connected to the network. I have chosen as IP Address 192.168.0.32 and as Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0.

    3. A HP Deskjet 990 cxi printer connected to the network through a HP JetDirect 500X with he following settings: IP Address 192.168.0.30 ad Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0.

Are the Subnet Mask values for both JetDirect right? Which value should I written as Default Gateway in network settings of each JetDirect?

Thanks in adance for your help.

This indicates your router's IP address is 192.168.0.1 and your Subnet Mask. You can set the same IP address on your both JetDirect as your Default Gateway and the Subnet mask will also be the same as 255.255.255.0 since your IP address is of Class C.

IP address and subnet mask for both the printers are correct, for the gateway, you must use the IP address of the source which connects to an external network, in this case 192.168.0.1 as you have this ip as your routers and i guess it will be connected to the internet or your computer connects to the other external networks via this router...
