    How to setup ThinkVantage Access Connections

    My brother has bought a new HP laptop for his professional use as he need to move from one location to other frequently. So i suggested him to use ThinkVantage Access Connections to create and manage location profiles and to connect easily to the appropriate network. But we don't know how to use or set it up. Could you guys please guide me setting up the to connect easily to the appropriate network ?. Thanks in advance.

    ThinkVantage Access Connections connectivity solutions go far beyond those provided by the operating system alone.To launch ThinkVantage Access Connections left click its icon in the System Tray and Choose Launch ThinkVantage Access Connections.The pictures in the center of the window will be different depending on your location. Now go to the Locations menu and choose Create New Profile. Now on the newly opened window, Field one allows you to set the name and icon for your new profile pick. Type in a name and choose an icon that the profile of the Access Connections ThinkVantage from now on it will symbolize.

    Second field allows you to pick what type of network connection profile will use Wired LAN, Wireless LAN,Wired Broadband, Dial-Up or Wireless HAD. The best available option in the Network is to profile the different types of connections to find and choose the best order is to be available whenever it tries to connect. Choose the type of network designated for your home network. If you are uncertain which connection to choose, select Best Available Network.

    Third field allows you to make the network to pick this profile, the priority for multiple adapters among the best available option in the Network will be to use and places. This allows you to specify what types of connections to the profile will try to and in what order.Once done, click Next.

    Now enter the name of your home network.Set the options in fields two, three, and four to correspond with your home network. Again click on Next at the bottom.

    Now on this page, uncheck the "Override home page" option. Once done click the Finish button. This will go to the main screen of the compounds of the ThinkVantage Access, where you'll see that your new profile is now available in the Locations drop down list.

    Once your profiles are created, getting connected is a simple matter to select a profile and let the Access connection to do the rest. Even if you are between a WLAN and wired LAN move, the compounds of the Access smart enough to the designated connection. No matter whether you're an individual PC user or a network administrator, Access Connections takes the hassle out of getting connected.

    ThinkVantage Access Connections has recently released its latest version, ThinkVantage Access Connections 5.21 which has some new features like:

    • Added support for Gobi 1000 AT&T Firmware
    • Added support for WiMAX Clearwire
    • Added the WiMAX Video button to launch WiMAX video tutorial on English Windows
    • Updated the APN values for Vodafone Ireland SIM card
