    Wireless network broken on Ubuntu 9.04

    Hi,

    I have to manually perform login to connect to wired network, as by default ubuntu connects to the wireless network broken on Ubuntu 9.04. It worked flawlessly for the first few weeks before these latest patches. Is there a way to "undo" the applied patches in Ubuntu? Any one out there feel like pointing me in the right direction.

    Did you keep all the config settings in your /home directory when you installed Jaunty beta? The problems most likely are caused by a change in the driver, that the update provided. To further troubleshoot this, much more info is needed. You have to you specifically enable it under System -> Administration -> Hardware drivers.

    I have performed all the updates and then was no longer able to connect to my wireless network. Ubuntu says my password or encryption keys are wrong leading to a authentication problem. I've tried this twice on a brand new installation on jaunty, and its the same.

    Make sure that wireless drivers installed. You can manually scan for networks with this command :

    Code:
    iwlist wlan0 scan
    Or

    Try wicd:

    Code:
    $ apt-get install wicd
    It should be connected by default to the wired network automatically.
