Why want to block direct access to router? I don't see any valid reason to do so. If you think you have a valid reason then please post back and specify. In my opinion, you cannot block any computer on network from accessing the router.

You can block direct access to router. A router has a web based interface or if you have a WAN router [like cisco], then you can telnet into it. The easiest way to block direct access to router is to change the default username and password and don't disclose it to the those whom you don't want to let the router to be accessed. Simple!?

Re: block direct access to router

I want to block direct access to router because when all the computer's are connected to the router, i just cannot access the router. It won't open the router page that is 192.168.1.1 Everything else is fine, i can view all the computers on the network, i can access the internet that is coming from the router, but not the router...
