Vista disable my antivirus

Hi,
I have windows vista in my system. I have installed avg in my system to protect it from virus. But vista when boot up disable my antivirus. I cannot click on the system tray button. When I click on it nothing happens. The antivirus control panel does not appear. What to regarding this.

It is not the operation system. Probably your system is affected by an virus. The virus has disabled your system's security application. Try to re-install the application. Restart your system in safe mode and run a full system scan. Also check out that your windows firewall is on. If you have much trouble them probably you will need to format your system.

Run a system restore utility. Go to start menu > all programs > system tools > accessories > system tools > system restore. Run the application and restore your system to an older time. Then first update your antivirus and run a full system scan under safe mode.

Instead of AVG use a powerful antivirus. Like norton. Then run a full system scan and check out that any virus is detected. If possible run Hijackthis and see the log file. Stop the service which is unidentified. The most important part here is that your system is affected with a virus. Virus is a major issue. Mostly many free version of antivirus is unable to determine the infection. So best run a scan in safe mode and see weather you found any.
