hello to all, i Have a problem that is being detected by norton , Following a scan by Norton it has detected a virus called as Hacktool.Rootkit. the infected file name is SVKP.sys. the problem is that Hacktool.Rootkit is difficult to remove and the i cannot delete the infected file ,Can you tell me how to delete that File and remove this hacktool.rootkit Virus? Remove Hacktool/Rootkit.M/Rootkit.Win32.Agent.q.

1. Download WinKRootkitRemover
2. Double-click and then click and start WinKRootkitRemover.exe
3. Download and install Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware anti-malware recommended
4. Start Windows in Safe mode
5. Delete the folder C:\Program Files with random letters
6. To remove all traces of spyware and other elements that could be installed, scan your computer with:
   • Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware anti-malware recommended
7. Restart the computer
8. I also advice you to scan your computer with updated antivirus software , if you are infected, chances are that you cannot it, then use an online antivirus such as
   
   • Scan by Secuser
   • Symantec Scan
   • Scan by Panda
9. Clean your system registry by using the utility RegCleaner
10. Clean the temporary files / caches etc. .. with CCleaner

This threat seems to be of Rootkit type . your system must already be corrupted, So First disable System Restore. This procedure is valid only if you have WinXP with updates to enabled. Normally, this utility is not very powerful but fortunately, sometime this tool enables the removal of malicious Windows software .there may be your rootkit and some other (likely) threats Which can be located and destroy by it

I tried to download the above file my symatec antivirus on desktop pc and mcafee on laptop did not warn anything
my virus files are updated
