Re: Upgrading Windows SharePoint

In order to upgrade from SharePoint 2003 to 2007, you need to follow the below steps mention.

1) First of all you need to download and install Microsoft .NET Framework Version 3.0 Redistributable Package (x86) from the official Microsoft website.

2. Then you need to run PreScan.exe on your system. Then you need to remove all the error that are mentioned by PreScan on your system.

3. Then you need to install Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. Follow the below steps for installing SharePoint Server 2007 on your system.

a. You need to run setup.exe file and then enter product key and need to accept License Terms.

b. Most importantly you need to choose upgrade version.

c. After installation, you get the completion screen. Don’t uncheck “Run the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard now” and click close.

d. Odds are you will get a screen that says you must Reboot to complete setup. If so, click “Yes”.

Re: Upgrading Windows SharePoint

For that you need to check out the most important things in order to use the PRESCAN.EXE tool and then choose upgrade method. The PRESCAN.EXE tool has to be run and all errors surfacing from the scan has to be addressed before proceeding with the upgrade. Carefully consider your choice of upgrade method. Unless you have a very good reason not to, you should be using the Gradual Upgrade approach.
