WDS and WPA support on Netgear DG834GBv3 router

right now I am having Netgear DG834GBv3 router and WG602v3 access point. I wanted to use the same as a repeater. It is not possible when I have selected wpa encryption with having the latest version of firmware installed on the system. can you tell me any proper solution to make the thing working?

The use of wireless access point is to connect wireless network with wired network. The WG602v3 is doing the same function. We can use WG602 as repeater or bridge. Also one can make the setting which will allow to make security settings to use them. i am aware of that repeater mode is not able to handle WPA. I could not figure out whether it is happening because of the bug issue.

As far as I know WG602v3 is having support for WPA with WDS. However DG834GBv3 is having support for WEP in WDS. I found that access point was working fine. I am suspecting that the issue is associated with dg834GBv3. If I am not wrong wds function was added at the later stage. But it won’t advertise about the same. after doing through research finally found that any netgear router is supporting for WPA or WPA2 in the wds mode. Only wg602v3/v4 and wg302v2 are having support for WPA/WPA2 in wds mode.

Can you tell me whether future release of firmware provide support for WPA/WPA2 in wds mode?

I will really appreciate if they are going to provide support for WPA/WPA2 in wds mode in the future release of firmware. However I am expecting that the netgear would make an announcement for the same.

Right now I am having tp-link repeater. It is working fine with DG834GBv3 with wds and wpa2. I cannot guarantee but combination of DG834GBv3 or WG602v3 might be causing the problem. if you are still you are not able to make the thing working then I recommend that you should contact technical support team to get the further assistance.
