| roxwatchtray9.exe in task manager
In a log file created by hijackthis a file roxwatchtray9.exe is creating a doubt in my mind. Last week I need to format my system due to trojan virus and then I had reinstalled everything back again. I use USB frequently. I had also installed Kapersky's USB protection. My system is working fine but it hangs recently at the time of surfing. I feel that isn't this thing creating a trouble. I doubt that again my pc is gone affected by virus. Guys send some suggestions. Thanks. ![]() |

Well it is not a virus. roxwatchtray9.exe is a process which normally comes with the system. You can say that it is a system file. The program is provided by Roxio Sonic Solutions. It is a media edit software file. It is configured to run at startup. It is something like an automated process. You can manually disable it from your Roxio tool. This file runs from the tray and allows some roxio services. It is a safe file. The default location of the file is C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio. |

You can leave the file as it is. I am sure that you must be having a Roxio player in your pc. The roxwatchtray9.exe is related to it only. Not a threat. If you remove roxio completely then it will disappear. Actually it allows to work with roxio from the tray near the clock. Don't think much about it. And to prevent virus in future always scan a usb drive then use it. Update your windows regularly. |

You will need to take care that some spywares and virus look like it and harm your system. If you do not have roxio player and the file is in your system then definitely this is a threat. It can damage your system. Run a full system scan in safe mode. Or if you have a Roxio tool then leave it. It is an system of roxio. It places it icon on the system tray. You can make sure by removing roxio and installing it back again. But for this your will need the setup file. Once it is uninstalled the file will not be seen in Task manager. |
