Disable wireless when wired connection is in use

I have a Linksys WRT54GS router. I normally use it via wired connection. And so I want to disable its wifi access for safety purposes. Can you suggest me some ways to disable wireless connection when wired is enabled?

That's very simple. You can disable your wireless connection on your computer as follows:

    1. Go to Start and click Control Panel
    2. Find Network Connections and double click on it
    3. Right Click on Wireless Network Connection and select Disable

Did you tried to disable SSID on your router? However if you are just thinking of security then you can try turning ON the security and since this is your home router, WPA would be best suited for you.

Few routers including Linksys allows you to turn off wireless. This should be somewhere existing on the router's administration page. In Linksys routers, you can disable wireless by changing the Wireless Network Mode to "Disabled." If that didn't help then you can even try to remove the antennas to disable it.
