    Need some information on msvcs.exe

    Hi,
There is a suspicious file msvcs.exe running in my system. I came to about this by a log file created by Hijackthis. I am not quiet sure but still I feel that it is some kind of virus. Because before it was not there. I is coming after when I started using Outlook express. I am having a free antivirus tool called AVG. It is quiet good but in this case it is not identifying the file as a virus. So I thought it can be some windows service. So I ignored it. But form last couple of days I am getting a lot of junk emails related to some stupid ads and porns. In the task manager there are multiple files on the same name. What should I do know. I want to know if it is a virus then how it affected my system. How can I get rid out of it. Help. Thanks in advance.

Had you heard about a trojan virus. The file msvcs.exe it an backdoor trojan type virus. It is in your system and your valuable data is in danger. I do not understand why your antivirus does not detect it. I think you had not updated it or the virus has alter you anitvirus settings. It is important that you should understand about the virus. Because it will make you more aware. As it is said perfectly that prevention is better than cure. Back to the point, a trojan is an malicious software that looks like it is doing one thing but actually perform some unknown actions. It includes a bunch of malicious codes inside which can make your whole system unstable. As the name says backdoor it means it opens a backdoor in your system. So they are named as Remote access trojans or in short RAT. They are available more as compare to other virus and are the most deadly one. The main function is to provide an remote access to your system. For example your are on the internet and the virus has spread in your system. It give a remote access to hacker who had released it on the net. It is like give your house to a stranger. Let see what they do. They send spam by your email id's. Steal your passwords and personal data. Read you mails. Use your internet connection to send DDoS attacks. Modify you system files, disable your anitvirus, etc. Now you know what it happen to your system. The first you will need to do is disconnect your internet right away. Always keep your firewall on. The weak point of this virus is internet connection. If the link is broken it becomes inactive. Firewall blocks this type of unauthorized access. If you had done any transaction related to money like online banking or purchase then at once change your password. The best solution is to format and reinstall your OS if you have an backup of your data.

It is purely a virus. No windows service. Kill the process from Task Manager before it spread more. Remove your internet connection and run a full system scan under safe mode. The file tends to connects to an IRC server where it waits of unauthorized remote command. It place it self on the start up service of windows. If you have an registry scanner run it. It will restore your altered registry entries. Use a good antivirus like Nortorn. Always keep your firewall on. Never open any untrusted applications from mails like e-cards. Only open those mails which you can identify. The damage level is considered as medium. It much better to remove it. Restart your system in safe mode and run task manger. Kill the process and search for similar files names in windows. The default folder which they normal affect is %System%. Delete it from here if you can see.

Re: Need some information on msvcs.exe

The msvcs.exe is termed as a very easy infection. I bumps up your personal information on the internet. I gives an remote access to unknown threats. It was first discovered in the year 1999. So you can think what modification can the current version do. It steals information, corrupt data, spread in network systems, spamming, capture screens, etc. It is recommended that you must keep you firewall on and block all incoming connection except those whom you want to give access. Use a complex passwords which is difficult to crack. Disable autoplay. Because virus links themselves with it executes in the system. Turn off and remove those services which are not required. Disconnect the infected computer from network and internet. Never open attachment unless you expect any. If any wifi or blue tooth service is not in use then turned it off. There three simple ways to get rid of it. First temporarily disable the system restore in your computer. Install a good antivirus and perform a clean update. Run a full system scan.
