Netgear WGR614 64 bit driver for Vista

    hie,

I have bought a Netgear WGR614 wireless router and when I inserted the disc to install the drivers, the disc says "This driver is not compatible with your OS...click exit to close this setup". However, I have Windows Vista 64-bit as my operating system.

can anyone help how do I work these drivers in my vista....please suggest some ideas or solutions
    thanks

If it's a new router, I would suggest you to read the book that came along with it. The book will have the information on how to access the router via internet explorer, something like this, on the address line of IE enter //192.168.0.1 and type enter. You will need to enter the default login and password which you get it from the manual itself.

I think it's the compatibity issue, the router that you have bought may be is suitable for the 32-bit Windows Vista.
The compatibility of the product depends on the following factors -
    • The product has earned the Certified for Windows Vista, Works with Windows Vista, or Games for Windows logo, which indicates that it has been tested for compatibility.

    • The device manufacturer or software publisher states Windows Vista support for the product.

If none of the above information was available, then the status of the product is unknown.

Where the router is connected to ? I mean cable, modem or dsl. If the router is connected to dsl, then try to reboot the dsl and router, both. First reboot the dsl and then router, then connect the router and the dsl box. If still the problem continues, then there might be certain configuration settings in the router.
