    Wrt54g v6 tweaks

    I would like to Upgrade performance of my WRT54G.Alternative firmware is not possible as i have the v6. I want to know the way which can help me to tweak important internal settings which provide me best wireless service speed.

    you can use 3rd party firmware such as DD-WRT. doing this is like overclocking, so intentionally increasing output power which make difference on its life. for more better performance better antenna required you can also boost performance with some antennae hack and having a more better transmitting client service.

    yes 3rd party firmware is good option you can download and use cfosspeed also.in router setting Disable UPnP under NAT/QOS -> UPnP , Under Services disable <ttraff Daemon> .The v.3 is a better than the v.6.where 3rd party firmware provides you the option to create a wireless bridge, This option deliver better performance which result is output increasing on both ends.Here WDS wireless repeating using DD-WRT is another old option for wireless router but this requires the bandwidth more.

    install new HyperWRT 2.0. that will provides more control over the radio, better routing and QoS options.You can install batbox on top of HyperWRT for more features.
