Need cat 3 wiring diagram

I have 3 computers, one in each room. I want to connect them and want them to talk, how do i connect them using cat 3 cables? Any Wiring/Cabling Diagram would help. Also suggest which device to use? I already have an old switch. Thanks!

There are many Cat 3 wires, if you wan't to connect the computer over ethernet use 2 pair Cat 3 wires. The connections are as follows : The numbers indicate the pins of RJ

1 --------------------- 1 - Wire here same color on both end
2 --------------------- 2 - Wire here same color on both end
3 --------------------- 3 - Wire here same color on both end
4 ---no-connection--- 4
5 ---no-connection--- 5
6 --------------------- 6 - Wire here same color on both end
7 ---no-connection--- 7
8 ---no-connection--- 8

If you are using CAT 3 cables i would suggest you use all the 8 pins so you will need 4 pair cat 3 cable. You need to use 4 pair cable because some computer's LAN need power which they draw from the pins on the connector and the motherboard's power is used in such case. All the best as you are connecting 3 computers you will needa switch or hub will do. connections like the above one same wires on both sides. This is called Parallel cable or Straight Cable.
