Setting up wireless internet on a Gateway 400 Notebook

As the title says, how to Set up wireless internet on a Gateway 400 Notebook? I have read some documentation on this but there was not clear idea on how can I achieve this. I am not so much aware about any special settings for the laptops and therefore wanted to know this. Please help me in this.
