AVG antivirus is not turned on

Hi,

i am using windows xp ,I have recently upgrade my avg 7.5 free version to Avg 8.5 free version. after that when choose the scanning option it wont work. and even at the start of the pc it shows AVG 8.5 free is turned off. how to turn on my AVG Antivirus ?

If you are unable to scan using AVG 8.5 that means your pc is infected with malware, and if it is not the case, then it is much more likely to be a corrupt installation.Uninstall the Avg 8.5 from your pc and download the Avg 8.5 free version from http://free.avg.com/.

Thanks for your reply, I run the installation again, it ask me to repair, after repairing i restart my pc and during scanning i found some malware on it. The cause of AVG being disabled or turned off was related to an internet update on the software which did not fully complete.
