Re: How to detect and remove XC.exe file ?

The xc.exe file is related to spyware which is installed and used by XC Trojan. With the presence of xc.exe file in your computer, your computer's security and privacy may be at a high risk.

Running a scan to the computer is recommended to detect the xc.exe file.
You can download SpyHunter's Spyware Scanner. This application automatically detects xc.exe file .

Re: How to detect and remove XC.exe file ?

You can also manually detect and remove xc.exe file -

To manually detect xc.exe file, use Windows File Search Tool :

    • Go to Start --> Search --> All Files or Folders.
    • In the "All or part of the the file name" section, type in "xc.exe" file name(s).
    • For better results, select "Look in: Local Hard Drives" or "Look in: My Computer" and then click "Search" button.
    • When the search is finished, hover over the "In Folder" of "xc.exe", highlight the file and copy/paste the path into the address bar. Save the file's path on your clipboard because you'll need the file path to delete xc.exe in the following manual removal steps.

To remove xc.exe processes use Windows Task Manager

    • Open Windows Task Manager (Ctrl + Alt + Del).
    • Click on the "Image Name" button to search for "xc.exe" process by name.
    • Select xc.exe process and click "End Process" button to remove.

If any other xc.exe files are present, you need to detect and delete them as well,
    • Open Windows Command Prompt (start > run > type cmd > press OK)
    • Type in "dir /A name_of_the_folder" (for example, C:\Spyware-folder) - This will display the folder's content along with the hidden files.
    • To change directory, type in "cd name_of_the_folder".
    • Once you have detected the file you're looking for,
      • To delete a file in folder, type in "del name_of_the_file".
      • To delete the entire folder, type in "rmdir /S name_of_the_folder".
    • Select xc.exe process and click End Process button to delete.

Re: How to detect and remove XC.exe file ?

In my computer, this XC.exe file performed the following behavior:
The Process is packed and/or encrypted using a software packing process

Also, XC.exe has been the subject of the following behavior:
Added as a Registry auto start to load Program on Boot up
Created as a process on disk

You can use Prevx 3.0 to remove XC.exe along with any other viruses, spyware, adware, trojans, rootkits, worms, information stealers, keyloggers, bots, and any other form of malicious threat that may reside on your PC.
