    Dont have appropriate access rights for the server

    Hi,

    I have a pc with a home network via a wired router with 4 other pcs. All the workgroup computers are visible from each other and everything was working fine, but yesterday i found out that I could no longer access the other computers. when i try to access i get a message \\comp 2 is not accessible. and when i click "properties", I get the following message;

    "You do not have the appropriate access rights for this server. For more information, contact your network administrator."

    any idea ?

    Hey
    First of all check weather all firewalls are configured correctly. go to control and run local security policy editor panel , admin tools and in the local policy, Network Access: Let everyone permissions apply to anonymous users, to enabled and make sure guest account is enabled. this will do the trick

    You can use solve the access denied problem from Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    open a notepad and create a FIXANON.REG file
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa]
    "restrictanonymous"=dword:00000000
    open the file select Yes to the merge into registry question.
