Upgrade microsoft exchange from 2003 to 2007

hi,

I need your help regarding upgrading from Microsoft exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007. I want to set up a new server and then Migrate our old Exchange data over to it. on net i have found some of tips that might be helpful. has anyone done this before and what are the steps that I would need to follow in order for this project to be a success.

Exchange 2003 don't configure an SMTP connector, Make sure you have an SMTP connector defined on your Exchange 2003 server. Exchange 2007 is new role-based architecture, the Hub Transport role does all the message routing inside of the organization. for more details on how to upgrade microsoft exchange from 2003 to 2007 see here

Exchange 2007 requires Windows Server 2003 x64. When transitioning to Exchange 2007, you cannot perform an in-place server upgrade on an existing Exchange server. Instead, you must install a new Exchange 2007 server into the existing organization, and then move data to the new Exchange 2007 server.
