    First tell me what is the name of Anti virus installed in your PC. It can be a conflict between the applications.

    Re: Malfunctioned Firewall

    My friend you computer is prone to virus. The virus has malfunctioned your Firewall service. I am mentioning the complete steps to Fix your Firewall problem. This one is really gonna work....

    Normally the viruse create changes is the registry of windows which result in malfunctioning of Firewall. The on off feature of Firewall turns grey out. Even after scanning from an Anti virus some changes are not restore. So it has to be manually restored.

    First take a back up of your Registry file. ( regedit.exe )
    Click on Start Menu > Run > Type " regedit.exe "

    Scroll to following :
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsFirewall\DomainProfile]
    "EnableFirewall"=dword:00000000
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsFirewall\StandardProfile]
    "EnableFirewall"=dword:00000000

    If values of the above key is set on 0 the the firewall controls will not work. Just set the Values on 1, it will enable you firewall controls.

    After changes restart your computer. Now you will be able to configure your Firewall.

    You need not to worry about your Firewall Issue. Because Mcafee has its own Firewall Service. It Disable Windows in built Firewall in order to avoid third party conflicts

    Try this,
    Click on Start Menu > Control Panel > Windows Services and and enable the FW/ICS service. Or

    Right-click My Computer > Manage > Services

    Some of the feature might be disable due to other applications.
