connect to the internet losses after recovering from standby

    Hi All!

I am using vista & a wireless connection with it!

Many times i put my pc on standby as per the work done but after resuming from standby mode the connection is lost to the router. Then i have to reboot to gain access to the internet.

    Can anyone help with this..???

    Temporary solution :
Try opening your network status dialog box (by double clicking on that little computer in the tray), select the "support" tab and then click on "repair". It takes a minute but that's probably faster than rebooting.

Have you tried reinstalling Windows? That's about all you haven't done.

Are you using Windows wireless config or Access Connections?

Whatever one you are trying, you should try the other one.

Also try and install the drivers that shipped with the machine (may be in the SWTools or Drivers folder on the C: drive).

I would reset the router to it's factory defaults and set it up again.

To reset, with the unit powered up, push in and hold the reset button for about 10 seconds. Let it run for a minute or two afterwards so it can reboot.

On your laptop, delete that old wireless connection (even if you use the exact same SSID on the router) and create a fresh one.

You can try this steps that will help you disable power saving mode for Wireless:

    1. Press Win + R. This will open Run box.

    2. Type devmgmt.msc and press enter to open device manager.

    3. Select Network adapters and click + sign to its left.

    4. Right click on the Wireless entry.

    5. Select Properties.

    6. Click on Power Management.

    7. Uncheck the entry “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.”

    8. Click Apply and OK.
