Problem of NAT for MacBook,Xbox 360

Hello with all! I have Xbox 360, and when I played on line, a warning appeared, saying to me that my NAT being moderated, my parts could beings slowed down. I regulated this problem for the console , by opening the ports, etc etc…

Thinking more of not having a problem with that, I started to play on line via my MacBook, and the parts pass by a software of the name Range To arrange, which also gave me a warning in connection with the NAT.
I am at Free with the passage.

My questions: this problem of NAT influences what? Are my remote loadings they affected? Or is what the fact that the NAT is moderate slows down only my parts on line?
I have a little evil to acquire certain concepts in connection with that.
Another: when ports are opened, the ports correspond to a “physique” machine, or to an application?

Thank you in advance for your answers.

If the ports are not opened, the software less quickly will communicate to see at all.

When you open a port, it is compared to an application on a machine (identified by its address IP). In the boxes, they is the ports of at home whom you can open or close. For example, the HTTP functions on port 80, however you do not need to open port 80 in your box so that functions, because the waiter is outside. On the other hand, if you want that people reaches then a waiter HTTP which is at home, it is necessary to open port 80 in your box, because it is by closed defect (contrary to the outer harbors which all is open).

It is thus important to open the ports for the applications which need some so that they function at full speed (remote loadings, online games…).

With your level, I think that simplest is to activate the uPnP, it is a protocol which makes it possible to open the ports automatically when an application needs some (it is necessary to activate it in Game To also arrange). The freebox is compatible, it should just be activated in the page of configuration.

The trick, it is when I want to play in line with AoE 3 with a pal via GameRanger. I notched the box “to activate uPnP” in the page of config' of FreeBox, on the other hand, you had said to me to activate it in GameRanger, I sought, anything in vain found, but I surely badly sought.

In short, it nevertheless went like that, until a few days, where when I launched a part, my pal the reception of the parameters of the part was found of course, whereas me, I finished on the principal menu of the play, impossible thus to join the part .

Re: Problem of NAT for MacBook,Xbox 360

Your Internet connection is behind has Port-Restricted Cone NAT Router that may prevent you from connecting to nap players in peer-peer ranges.

You will still Be whitebait to connect with the majority off players, goal not with those who cuts Symmetric NAT Routers (which are not that common, fortunately). One advantage off fixing this problem is that the “Preparing Connection” window will supplements much faster.

Yew you C want to solve this problem, it will involve you configuring your router. Most routers are configured through has web page built into them. You may Be whitebait to reach yours young stag.

Recent Many routers support has feature called Universal Plug and Play (UPnP). This feature will allow GameRanger to C most off the configuration required. You will need to enable it to allow GameRanger to make exchanges. Not all routers support UPnP correctly, however, so that may not Be enough.

Alternate The is to manually configures your router to C port-forwarding for UDP port 16000. Ask your ISP (Internet Service Provider) gold refer to your router' S instruction manual for assistance young stag.

Port-forwarding such the router to send the range communication dated to your computer. The port-forwarding configuration page will ask you for has public port and has private port. Set both off those to 16000. In sum boxes, instead off asking for has public port, it will ask for has port arranges (eg. Start Port, End Port). Set the Start and End to 16000. It will also ask you for the IP address off your computer that the dated should Be feels to. It may cal this the LAN IP, Local IP, gold Private IP. This should Be set to 192.168.1.4. Standard yew it asks you for the protocol gold, set it to UDP.

Possible Unfortunately, it is not to offer step-by-step instructions young stag different ace every router is.

Yew you are At work one has company network gold At has university, you may not Be whitebait to fix the problem yourself. Instead you may cuts to ask the network administrator to how to port-forward UDP port 16000 to your computer.

Re: Problem of NAT for MacBook,Xbox 360

If your freebox is connected on a router wifi, then it is necessary to decontaminate the router mode of the freebox (this generates fatally that the uPnP on the freebox will be decontaminated).

And it is on your router wifi that the NAT (= the opening of ports) will be made. It should be seen already if your router supports the uPnP.

If not it is necessary to open port 16000 in UDP. But if your router supports the uPnP it is not worthwhile. Give me the model of your router and I can perhaps help you to configure it if you block.
