Consent.exe prevents windows start-up

Hi

I have a new Windows Vista problem.
Whenever the router is switched on and windows starts, then after the windows password input is infinitely times consent.exe started (over 400 times) and It uses cpu utilization to 100%.
It helps only the router off and on again and then all consent.exe files automatically terminated.

While consent.exe is executed, on the internet continuously.

Can I somehow block this file, or what I could do so consent.exe is not running?

Thank you very much

Hello

It belongs to User Account Control UAC!

Virus scanner up to date? Partitions have the latest virus definitions thoroughly scanned?

Precise name of the router?
The router's firmware up to date?

Re: Consent.exe prevents windows start-up

Hi,

first search for consent.exe. each one you find, right click and look Microsoft details in Properties. If it is there, you are find. Try renaming it to consent.bad if it doesn't have the MS details (for each instance you may find).

Reboot. If you don't notice any problems, do a search on consent.bad and remove them.

Re: Consent.exe prevents windows start-up

Hi,

File consent.exe is located in a not identifiable folder. The file size on Windows XP is 0 bytes. File consent.exe is a file without information about the maker of this file. The program has no visible window.

Re: Consent.exe prevents windows start-up

Hi,
I tried changed the concent file to concent.bad but is says that "Destination Folder Assess Denied".

My Router is Netgear WGR614v5
I went to taskmanager and i did right click on concent.exe it says "Perform Administrative Tasks". Then I clicked on file location and its in the System 32 folder so I know that I cannot change the file.

but it says that the concent file is created on my computer:27/09/2008 7:52AM.

Re: Consent.exe prevents windows start-up

I think you will need to be an administrator if you want to perform administrative tasks. Try disabling UAC. This may help...
