I have done EVERYTHING! Downloaded drivers. I have a HP laptop with Vista 64 bit and a HP desktop, HP Deskjet304 All in one printer. I cannot get my laptop to find the printer.
HELP - I'm a teacher and desperately need to use the printer.

hi,
first download the right printer driver, then install it. Open printer setup under control panel, then add printer, then add local printer instead of network printer. It should then find the printer. I think it will prompt you to select the driver or something, if not, it means it will automatically use the driver you have installed. And that should work!
You have Hp laptop and Desktop both? can you detect your printer on desktop ? You should contact with HP support center, they will help you find right driver for your printer.
This are the basic steps for how to share a printer.
1. Go to the computer( desktop or laptop ) that is physically connected to the printer and open the printer settings. ("Start - Printers and Faxes")
2. Right click on the printer you want to share. Click on "Sharing".
3. Enable printer sharing by clicking the check box "share this printer" and give it a name.
4. Go to remote computers and go to Start - Run. On the "Run" window, type in the emachines IP or dns name.
5. A new window will pop up and you should see the shared printer. Right click on the printer and click on "connect".
Done....
if you can not see this you need to post all your OS, network protocals and security settings.
